Story and Photo by Museum Website Director Ed Emmons
The Museum moved another step towards its goals by creating the position of Office Manager. This move will free up President Christal Dagit so she can focus on her work. Karen is retired from commercial property management.
Karen has been married for 40 years to her husband Joseph who has worked for Komatsu in Peoria for 35 years. The couple have 4 children, Denise, Daniel, Steven, and Jonathan, ranging in ages from 28-37. They also have 8 grand children.
Karen likes to knit, crochet, tat, sew, and read. She also like to garden in her spare time. She was born and raised in Pekin. Welcome to the Museum Karen.
The Museum would like to remind everyone that it does accept Memorial Contribution Gifts. If you would like to find out more about this please contact Christal Dagit at 309-346-1889, or 309-840-0177. Or you can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org .

As of July 1, 2013 the Caterpillar Matching Gifts process will be changing. Employees/Retirees will submit matching gift request electronically via the Foundation website. ( www.caterpillar.com/foundation ), instead of the current paper form. Organizations such as ours will also be required to log into the website and approve the matching gifts request for their organizations to be eligible for the Caterpillar Foundation match. Please visit the website above for more information closer to the July 1 date.
A reminder to all members, it is now time to renew your membership in the Tazewell County Museum and Educational Center and Tazewell County Historic Places Society. Your continued membership supports the museum and furthers our educational programs. We are currently working on educational programs in science, math, technology, and engineering for our youngest children thru our outreach programs.
The Museum is currently looking for good usable computers, printers, and routers, as it continues to expand.
