TAZEWELL COUNTY MUSEUM PLAYS HOST TO LE STARKE STUDENTS AND OTHER MUSEUM NEWS

On May 7, 2014 2nd, and 3rd grade students toured the Tazewell County Museum and brought with them drawings made from them of their interpretation of space.

The 2nd and 3rd grade students from LE Starke School in Pekin toured the many exhibits at the Museum such as the Everett Dirksen collection, the Astronaut Scott Altman Room, the Military Room, and many other exhibits from around Tazewell County.

About 60 students toured the Museum, along with many other Pekin landmarks including the Dirksen grave stone in Glendale cemetery, and where he and his wife Luella lived on Buena Vista in Pekin.






                                                                          OTHER NEWS FROM THE MUSEUM

The Tazewell County Museum was just designated a Blue Star Museum by the American Alliance of Museum's once again. The Museum has also just received 3 new books from NASA.

Also the Museum has received additional clothing from Everett and Luella Dirksen which was donated by Amy Werner.

The Museum has many pieces of clothing from the Dirksen's, dresses worn by Luella Dirksen were also donated.
